These notes are intended to be distributed to all active and auxiliary
members. Please bring copies to your Praesidium and Council Meetings.
Allocutio
Fr. Peffley gave some tips on doing door-to-door. Every senior
praesidium should have one to three teams going out each week. The
largest denomination is Catholics; the second largest is fallen away
Catholics. Mary uses you as an instrument of grace. Take literature
with you. Have packets in clear plastic bags. Make up about 40 packets.
If people are not home, leave the packet under the doormat, the
flowerpot or inside the screen door. Do not leave it on the doorknob.
It would be a good idea to have the image of the Sacred Heart on top of
the packet, so it is the first thing they see. The packet could contain
the following materials: the schedule of the Masses and confessions; a
letter from the pastor inviting them to come to the church; any
information on CCD classes and RCIA; information on the Eucharist; a
mini Catechism like “Pillar of Fire;” and the
parish
bulletin.
