Here is a reminder that the Legion of Mary Tidewater Congress is this coming Saturday from 9AM until 4PM at Saint Gregory Catholic Church. Come to all or part of the day. Fr. Peffley is very excited to come. It all kicks off with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass offered at 9AM in the church. The rest will take place in the Tobias room.
The Millers will be hosting another Rosary Party on July 15 at 2 PM. Please e-mail me at uvachelyse@yahoo.com for directions and more information. Feel free to bring a light food (eg. Cheese and crackers, some fruit, etc). We will pray the Rosary at 3:00 and the rest of the time before and after we will be making both rope and beaded Rosaries.
Fr. Damian Abbaticchio who was in residence at St. Gregory Catholic Church, and had served St. Gregory the Great and the St. Benedict Chapel, passed away during the night of June 19th to June 20th. He was spiritual director of Our Lady of the Rosary praesidium. There is a Mass for him in Pennsylvania on Saturday at 10AM. There has not been anything decided as far as a Mass to be said for him in Tidewater. Please keep the repose of his soul in your prayers. I will keep you updated.
Chelyse just finished hosting her Rosary Party. She had a lot of fun, and was really happy to see and meet the people who came. Some were interested in making twine Rosaries, — like the ones Chelyse gave to some of the people who helped with our wedding. Here is one of many places where you can buy twine to make Rosaries: http://www.fnt-victory.net/rosary.html
We use #36 Rosary Twine.
