“Whoever undertakes to listen to the word of God can and must then speak out and transmit it to others, to those who have never heard it, or to those who have forgotten it and buried it under the ‘thorns’ of the cares and illusions of the world, The Holy Father said on 1/26/2007.

I recently received an e-mail from Fr. Frank Pavone, who is the head of Priests for Life, and has been leading the fight to protect human life for a number of years. The e-mail was his endorcement of Senator Sam Brownback to be the next President of the U.S.Â
The e-mail reminded me that it is about time to remind everyone that the Legion of Mary is not a political organization. According to the Legion of Mary Handbook, “No legionary body shall allow its influence or its premises to be used for any political purpose or to aid any political party.” (more…)
Recently Pope Benedict XVI said, “Of course, false prophets continue to propose ‘low cost’ salvation, which always ends up delivering resounding disillusionment. Indeed, the history of the last 50 years provides an example of this search for a ‘low cost’ Savior and highlights all the consequent disillusionment.”Â
Indeed, in order to rise with Christ, we must die with Him. We must keep this in mind when our lives encounter problems. God chastises those He loves. He, Himself, did not defeat death and sin by His a show of strength of His power, but by His love; he underwent suffering and death to save us. If we wish to be followers of Him, we must accept our own cross.
