Vote for Marriage
On November 7th Virginian Catholics have an important duty to vote for the marriage amendment. This duty, clearly stated in Vatican II, by Pope John Paul II, and more recently by our Bishops, is not open to discussion or debate. It is not acceptable to fail to participate in public life; nor is it acceptable to support ‘civil unions’ and ‘gay marriage.’Â
Sodomy remains a serious sin, as does support for it. Those Catholics, who with full knowledge and consent, vote against the protection of marriage should seriously consider whether they should abstain from receiving Holy Communion until receiving a sacramental Confession.
