10/13/02 Legion of Mary Tip

Filed under: Legion of Mary Tips — Chrysostom @ 10:52 pm

The Trinity is beyond what we can understand in this life.  We should take time for moments of silence.  Life is a mystery; mystery is understood in silence.

Silence is golden.  Humility is the foundation of prayer.  Humility starts with silence.  We can move towards silence by spiritual reading, and by meditation.

Holy See opposses sodomy-pride event

Filed under: News — Chrysostom @ 1:02 pm

On November 9, 2006, the Holy See made known is opposition to the sodomy-pride demonstration in Jerusalem.  The Holy See indicate that the demonstration would not be a legitimate form of expression of opinions, but rather that it would be an offense to Christians, Muslims, and Jews.

It is importaint for us to keep in mind that sodomy is a serious sin, and that it is particularily not acceptable for Catholics to support it.

Vote for Marriage

Filed under: News — Chrysostom @ 10:58 am

On November 7th Virginian Catholics have an important duty to vote for the marriage amendment.  This duty, clearly stated in Vatican II, by Pope John Paul II, and more recently by our Bishops, is not open to discussion or debate.  It is not acceptable to fail to participate in public life; nor is it acceptable to support ‘civil unions’ and ‘gay marriage.’

Sodomy remains a serious sin, as does support for it.  Those Catholics, who with full knowledge and consent, vote against the protection of marriage should seriously consider whether they should abstain from receiving Holy Communion until receiving a sacramental Confession.
