Legion of Mary Blog

One side effect of the Legion of Mary is a better society.  However, all that we do must be towards making people more holy.  The social effect is short lived, as culture and society change, but the eternal effect — the salvation of souls last forever.

The hight of society was during the reign of King David. 

Human devotion is week,and our own need to be devoted and faifull takes much work, and will be failed with many failures, even for the best Christian.

 We must focus on the eternal effects — the salvation of souls.  The improvement of society is no more than a footnoot.  We must not seek rewards in this world, but in the next.

We should meditate on the last 2 chapters of the Book of revelatio.

We give birth to physical children — it takes work to have and raise a child.  The same is true with spiritual children.  The priest, likeworks hard, as to members of the Legion of Mary as spiritual parents.

True Christian suffering is not seeing the fruits of our spiritual labor; we will see those fruits only at the Last Judgement, after we have fallen asleep.

We share in the duty to suffer with Christ.  We can do nothing of our selves, but only can we do with God’s help.  It is only through the grace of God and with His help that we can please God.  Our own fruitfullness in bearing spiritual children, will be done with suffering, just as was the case with Christ.
