Make time to listen to God
We are called to respond to our legion duties every day and every week
Â
The Tidewater Curia is meeting Sunday, July 23rd at 3:00 PM. All active and auxiliary members are encouraged to attend. The meeting is at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church.
Faith is the foundation and doorway to hope and Charity. It is like a flower. Faith is the root, hope is the stem, Charity is the blossum. Faith and hope are passing, Charity is eternal. In Heaven, we will no longer have Faith and Hope, only Charity.
Our Good works and sacrifices are offered up with the Eucharistic prayer, which sanctifies them by the unblemished Lamb. (Our good works are our burnt offerings to God at Mass. Our whole life is offered up to God at Mass).Â
Acts of charity plant hidden seads in others — we don’t always see the fruits of our work in this life; we will see them at the Resurection.
…then become an Auxiliary Member of the Legion of Mary. An auxiliary member is one who says the prayers of the Legion including the Rosary and Magnificat daily. The prayers can be found here http://www.legionofmarytidewater.com/prayers.htm There is no age limit to auxiliary membership! I plan to say the prayers with my first child expected in September even as a newborn to begin his membership in the Legion right away.
Auxiliary Members are essential to the life and growth of the Legion of Mary. As the handbook says, “The twofold auxiliary membership is to the Legion what its wings are to a bird. With these wings widely expanded by possession of many auxiliaries, and beating powerfully under the rhythmic drive of their faithful prayer, the Legion can soar into the higher air of supernatural ideal and effort.”
Any and all liturgical abuse for the Richmond Diocese should be reported to Fr. Russell Smith at rsmith@richmonddiocese.org – Fr. Russell Smith was appointed by our Bishop for the very purpose of encouraging the faithfull in the Richmond Diocese to report liturgical abuse. Examples of Liturgical abuse to report include:
Pope Benedict XVI has already indicated that Archbishop Emmanuel Milingo is not comming to the USA with the blessing of the Pope and that the message he teaches regarding priestly sexuality is not being endorced by the Holy See. Those priests who engage in child abuse — such as Archbishop Emmanuel Milingo — should not be encouraged to continue. When one takes a vow of celibacy, that is a vow before God. Please be advised that his teachings on sexuality are not being endorced by the Holy See, and that neither is his trip.
