Please share your (kindly worded) feeback about the website and/or blog.  To do so, make a comment on this post.

UPDATE:  Based on comments, I’ve added the tagline “Views shared on this blog may not be representative of the views of the Legion of Mary.” I have also changed the background colors of the website some.  Please continue to provide feedback.

UPDATE 2: Many more changes (see comments) made.

  1. Hi, I just thought I’d like to post a couple of comment.

I love the content of the site. There is a lot of information. My primary problem is that the colors make it unreadable. I am color-blind, so the background color and the link color are too close together. I suggest making the background white, especially around the body text to make it more readable (black on white is best).

For the columns and the navigation bar, you can make them distinct by making those blue. However, the links are too close a color to blue to distinguish them easily. Also, you might want to change fonts from the standard “Times Roman” to something more interesting to read like Arial or Helvetica.

Thanks for the opportunity to give feedback!

  2. I updated the colors to make it more white. I changed the link bar to a light yellow (I hope that is ok?). I changed the text of the link bar for the start page.

    Thanks for the help.

  3. Additional changes made:

    Home page:
    - vertical divider changed to not go all the way up the page to
cut through the horizontal navigation bar.
    - The comment link was fixed
    - The navigation bar on the home page had its order changed

    Mission page:
    - background color changed

    Legion of Mary Works page:
    - font size increased
    -added “under Construction

    Faith page:
    - Added a table of contents; changed to 1 column
    - [not yet made, but plan to] add a period
    - “sacrament” is now misspelled correctly throughout.
    - fixed a number of grammatical mistakes

    Auxiliaries page:
    - changed formating

    Praesidia page:
    - Title changed to “praesidia” from “praesidium”

    Juniors page:
    - changed to 1 column
    - added age range for Juniors

    Prayers page:
Was asked: Do you want to include the beatification prayer on this page, since we say it at meetings? I decided to link to the Legion Saints page from the Links page (added the link), and am trying to decide if I should do more to promote the causes of Legion saints. I’m not sure the best way yet. So, something will be done in relation to this comment, I’m just not sure what…

    Links page:
    - Changed the spelling of Holy See
    - Added a disclaimer that some of these links are off-site and that the curia doesn’t manage their content.

I plan to submit the page to http://www.catholicculture.net which
reviews Catholic websites and gives them ratings for faithfulness, etc. I also added a link to their site.

I plan to make a FAQ for all those Latin terms? Acies,
Praesidium, Allocutio, Tessera, etc. Also to explain the Vexillium, and to answer a question of if the Legion of Mary is the same as the Legion of Christ.

I also am considering having a banner across all the sub-pages with soem graphic or something. I was thinking like a Rosary…but it may take some time to put together.

It was suggested that I have a FAQ of “How can I get a praesidium at my parish?” This included the suggestion of getting information out about how to contact an extension coordinator. I’m thinking of maybe adding an entire ‘extension section’…or maybe just adding that information through-out.

Yes…these changes were all based on 1 person’s comments! Thank you so much to everyone who has commented so far, and those who plan to comment soon. I do appreciate it.

My only request is: Please do not consider the time you spend helping with comments on this page as a substitute for doing actual Legionary work. The Mass-media is no substitute for person-to-person contact. Also, if you’re debating between praying a rosary for me or commenting (and can’t do both)…pray the Rosary.
